- Salary commencing at $77,278.91 per annum plus 10.5% superannuation (commensurate with experience)
- Hybrid work environment with Monthly RDO's applicable
The Opportunity
- Contribute to improving the amenity and safety of residents and visitors of the municipality by ensuring compliance with the Planning and Environment Act 1987, Moonee Valley Planning Scheme, Subdivisions Act 1988, Liquor Reform Act 1998, Building Act 1993 and other relevant legislation as they relate to the development and use of land in the municipality.
- Proactively identify and promptly, respond to and resolve alleged breaches of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, Moonee Valley Planning Scheme, Subdivisions Act 1988, Liquor Reform Act 1998, Building Act 1993 and other relevant legislation as they relate to the development and use of land in the municipality.
Responsibilities
- Respond to and investigate, with a view to resolving customer enquiries and complaints relating to Construction and Site Management Plans (CSMP), land use and development compliance with the Moonee Valley Planning Scheme and other relevant legislation. Provide advice where necessary on other legislation, Council policies or local laws.
- Where required carry out inspections in consultation with other team members where necessary, to ascertain compliance with endorsed CSMPs, the planning scheme, permit conditions, plans and other legislation pertaining to land use and development.
- In conjunction with the Coordinator of Statutory Planning, Team Leader of Planning Enforcement and Investigations, and other relevant parties to ascertain compliance with land use planning, the planning scheme, liquor licenses and planning permits.
Skills & Experience
- A tertiary qualification or extensive experience in a relevant field is essential, including planning, compliance, enforcement or investigations, law or environmental science
- Extensive experience in a compliance, enforcement or investigation role is desirable.
