- Work in a hybrid way with a monthly RDO available
- Salary commencing at $79,983.67 per annum plus 11% superannuation (commensurate with experience).
The Opportunity
This role provides quality services to internal stakeholders in relation to the operation, maintenance and development of Council's Geographic Information System (GIS). These services include:
- Analysing data for the provision of spatial information and cartographic products,
- Supporting the development and delivery of initiatives for maintaining and enhancing Council's spatial technologies,
- Creating and maintaining spatial data and metadata, and
- Undertaking GIS projects as required.
Responsibilities
- Use spatial technologies and data analysis techniques to derive spatial information to enhance Council decision making and delivery of services.
- Generate map products, data extracts or reports, as requested.
- Provide support to GIS end-users, assisting with spatial data and/or application issues, mapping and reporting requirements.
- Maintain, enhance and review Council's existing corporate spatial data sets, plus implement new ones as required/directed.
- Develop and implement data standards, templates and system processes to ensure that GIS data is maintained and managed correctly.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification related to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Information Technology (IT) Systems and/or relevant industry experience.
- Experience in the spatial Information field.
- Experience in the use of QGIS, ESRI ArcGIS,IntraMaps and the administration of a corporate, web mapping application.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to provide professional GIS services to a variety of specialist disciplines.
- Good mediation and conflict resolution skills, in addition to experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to work both as a member of a team and in an unsupervised capacity.
- Good understanding of database management systems.
