- Salary commencing at $100,577.59 per annum plus 12% superannuation (commensurate with experience)

The Opportunity
This role holds custodianship and oversight of Council's municipal public health and wellbeing planning. The successful candidate will keep abreast of key local health needs and Victorian Government health priorities, and work with local agencies and Council teams to address these through projects, programs and services. You will participate in networking groups and support work across the organisation to address the health needs of residents through implementing the municipal public health and wellbeing plan, and work towards the MV2040 vision of a healthy, welcoming and vibrant community. You will be the champion of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, review, evaluation and reporting on the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan, ensuring that Council's obligations are fully met to comply with the Local Government Act 2020 and Public Health Act 2008.
- Understand the key current and emerging health needs of the community through keeping abreast of data and participating in data collection and research activities.
- Undertake planning, prepare policy and support delivery teams with projects to reduce health inequalities.
- Undertake evaluation and review of activities to support Council to understand the effectiveness of its efforts in addressing its health improvement priorities.
- Participate in health promotion and prevention networks to ensure that Council actively supports the planning and delivery of regional partnerships and works collaboratively with the sector to mitigate health risks for the Moonee Valley community.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary or post graduate qualifications in health, social planning or impact, community development, or social science.
- Experience in health planning and policy development, including project design and implementation.
- Demonstrated experience in engagement, collaboration and partnership work.
