- Salary commencing at $78,842.82 per annum plus 12% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and skilled qualified Arborist to join our team at the City of Moonee Valley. The role has been created to ensure the efficient management and maintenance of our urban tree assets while contributing to the development of the team during a period of staff shortage. You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of streets, parks, and reserves, enhancing civic amenity and ensuring public safety.
This position is designed for a fully qualified arborist who is passionate about urban forestry and is keen to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement arboricultural works programs, ensuring activities meet safety and quality standards within budget.
- Assist the Tree Maintenance Supervisor in the development and upkeep of a comprehensive tree inventory using Confirm software.
- Supervise Assistant Arborists and support the team in executing tree maintenance programs.
- Participate in the evaluation and continuous improvement of arboricultural programs for effective service delivery.
- Provide timely and accurate advice in response to customer interactions, while maintaining a high level of professionalism in all dealings with the public.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure trees in streets, parks, and reserves are maintained to a high standard.
Skills & Experience
- Certificate III or higher in Arboriculture.
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence (Medium Rigid).
- Licence to Operate a Boom-Type Elevating Work Platform (Boom Length 11 Metres or More)
- Cert II ESI Powerline Vegetation control (UET20312) is desirable.
- Proven experience in arboriculture operations and the management of urban tree assets.
- Strong knowledge of safe work practices, plant, machinery, and equipment used in arboriculture.
- Ability to supervise staff and manage arboricultural projects to ensure high-quality outcomes.
