The Opportunity

Join Moonee Valley City Council's Parking Control team and be part of a team that is visible, valued and making a real impact every single day. We're seeking energetic, community-focused Parking Control Officers who thrive in a dynamic outdoor environment and take pride in keeping our streets, school zones, shopping precincts and clearways safe, accessible and fair for everyone. This is more than enforcement, it's about education, engagement and building positive connections with our community while upholding the Road Safety Road Rules with professionalism and confidence.

Equipped with industry-leading Pinforce software and supported by a progressive, high-performing team, you'll play a vital role in delivering responsive, transparent and modern parking control. Operating across a seven-day roster, generally between 7:30am and 10:00pm, this exciting frontline opportunity offers variety, visibility, career growth and the chance to truly make your mark at Moonee Valley City Council.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake parking enforcement and compliance activities in accordance with legislation, Council policies, and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve customer requests and complaints relating to parking matters.
  • Issue infringement notices using hand-held technology and update CRM systems accurately.
  • Conduct patrols to ensure the safety of road users, including school crossings and clearways.
  • Support and relieve School Crossing Supervisors as required.
  • Engage with residents, businesses, and community groups through proactive education programs.
  • Promote a positive team culture and contribute to service planning and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all enforcement actions are fair, consistent, and in line with relevant Acts and Regulations.

Skills & Experience

Successful candidates will hold a Certificate IV in Government (or be willing to undertake this qualification) and demonstrate the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation including the Road Safety Act, Regulations, and Local Laws. You will bring sound knowledge of Victorian Road Rules, experience working with the public in potentially challenging environments, and well-developed dispute resolution skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to exercise independent judgement within established guidelines. You will be confident using Microsoft Office and hand-held technology for issuing infringements and updating records, and capable of managing competing priorities within set timeframes.
