The opportunity
Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, Mott MacDonald's Built Environment team has an exciting opening for a Principal Facade Engineering Professional in the Sydney office. You will be joining a diverse and passionate team with a proven track record delivering major projects across Australia.
Our projects are predominantly building based, as a Facade Engineer in the built environment space, you will be working on significant urban development and precinct type projects that shape the communities in which we live.
With a focus on social and environmental outcomes, our team works across a range of sectors including arts and culture, commercial, civic, education, transport, hospital which you will have the opportunity to:
- Manage and deliver façade projects in a technically competent and timely manner.
- Provide technical façade engineering advice to various stakeholders.
- Review specialist contractor submissions.
- Foster and maintain strong client relationships with new and existing clients, architects and contractors.
- Develop façade documentation and specifications to a high level of quality.
- Contribute to bid writing and the winning of work.
- Supervision and mentoring of other design staff, checking and approving documentation for issue.
About You
- Chartered Engineer with a bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering
- Significant experience within façade design with particular emphasis on the structural aspects of façade design, durability, material selection, and design for weathertightness.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis software (preferably Strand 7).
- Possess a high level of design creativity with the ability to develop technically robust façade concepts whilst maintaining a strong focus on the design intent.
- Commercially aware with the ability to successfully lead façade projects through all phases whilst managing and developing strong client relationships.
