The role. What you will do:
Our busy and growing team is currently seeking an experienced Technical Director - Civil Engineering in the Water Sector with demonstrated experience in team leadership, mentoring, delivery of multidisciplinary projects, hydraulics and construction monitoring/supervision.

You will build connections with our local and international experts and bring this knowledge to our clients and to their projects.
As our new Technical Director- Civil Engineering Three Waters, you will take a leading role amongst our Three Waters team. You will be working in close collaboration with our local Auckland and wider New Zealand team, as well as connecting with our global specialists. Project delivery will include overseeing preparation of outline and detailed civil engineering designs, review of technical and commercial specifications, managing projects and working in close partnership with clients and contractors.
A strong customer driven work ethic will underpin your expertise and will be among a range of skills that will assist you in building a strong profile within Mott MacDonald and among our clients. This role will be pivotal in further developing our existing relationships. You will interact with internal and external clients, communicating with senior level professionals to form key relationships.
About you:
You will have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering with extensive experience in three waters, and ideally be a Chartered Engineer. You will have capability in a range of civil water design, such as pressure/rising mains, trenchless techniques, gravity pipelines (sewer and stormwater), pump stations and reservoirs and your design management experience will include working on complex infrastructure. You will also have the ability to provide quality assurance and continuous improvement through peer review.
We are looking for someone with excellent client relationship management skills, who takes pride in their ability to communicate and who can work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You will have the ability to manage/direct multi-disciplinary three waters design projects to achieve business objectives of quality, time, and cost.
