Our Water sector has a large community of three waters engineers across New Zealand, as well as internationally through our global business. We are a wholly independent, employee-owned, global engineering, management and development consultancy with strong local leadership and autonomy.

Our Wellington based Water team works on a variety of water and multidisciplinary projects across the south of the North Island, whilst also working closely with our Auckland and Christchurch based colleagues.

Our Water team in Wellington is fast growing and we are looking for an established Civil Engineer with experience in wastewater, stormwater and/or potable water systems to join us in delivering exciting projects across New Zealand, with a specific focus on the Wellington Region.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team this opportunity would see you providing support and mentoring to build the capacity of junior Engineers. You would also be responsible for preparing concept and detailed civil engineering designs, producing technical and commercial specifications, drawings, and schedules on a range of projects.

You will work in close partnership with our Graduate, Senior and Principal Engineers, the client and contractors through design phases and into construction monitoring. Your contribution will help to continue to grow our presence in the Lower North Island as well as improve access to three waters infrastructure, public health, and the local environment through the projects we deliver.

This role will be pivotal in further developing our existing team especially in using your skills and experience to mentor more junior members of the team.

It's a fantastic opportunity to progress your technical and management skills through your project work and build on-site experience, with great prospects for career progression as the business continues to grow.

About You:

Your passion for delivering high quality water projects for our communities, and the ability and energy to work in a team environment is highly desirable. Your interest in developing and supporting others in their career journeys will establish you as a core member of the team. Your well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and guide key stakeholders will set you up for success in your career at Mott MacDonald.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil) and previous experience in three waters design. Additionally, you will have strong industry experience in one or more of potable water, stormwater and wastewater. You should also have experience working in multidisciplinary teams, supporting and mentoring junior engineers, and a working understanding of hydraulics in civil design of three waters reticulation. Familiarity with 3D modelling design software would also be advantageous but not mandatory.
