As an Security Manager you will:

• Report to the UK Defence Security Controller for security line management
• Support major MML Defence projects as their Project Security Controller primarily Devonport and South England projects
• Act as the IT Security Officer (ITSO) including the management and processing of Cyber Security Model (CSM), DART and DPIA requests as required
• Produce and manage a project security risk register, training plan, and a project level internal security audit plan
• Interpret, implement and monitor security controls for the appropriate protection of HMG classified assets held by MML MOD projects
• Oversee and implement a project level aftercare plan as appropriate in line with Cabinet Office IPSA policy
• Provide travel advice to clearance holders in accordance with latest HMG policy and maintain a travel register
• Support the UK Defence Security Controller to ensure MM compliance with the Cabinet Office's GovS007 and legacy Security Policy Framework (SPF) and provide management guidance for interpretation and implementation of contractual and, where appropriate, legislative security controls
• Assist the Defence Project Team to provide advice for MOD security aspects of bids to increase MML's 'Right to Win'
• Assist in co-ordinating the planning of appropriate security controls for a new contract or for the alteration of offices / buildings where classified assets are to be handled, stored or produced
• Support the Global Defence Security Controller with managing and developing the MM Defence and Civil Nuclear security team and internal corporate security audits
• Investigate, report, and log any security related breaches in accordance with MML and Contracting Authority incident reporting requirements
• Provide security guidance for BM Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery plans as required for Defence projects
• Provide programme and project security advice and guidance to the Devonport project team and other Defence project teams as required
• Attend project kick-off meetings as required to ensure compliance / awareness
• Oversee project security plans / strategies
• Provide tailored security training and education to Defence projects as appropriate including:
  • Physical security training (corporate & project level)
  • Online security awareness including CT awareness
  • Security culture and behavioural training

About the team
The role is the Assistant Defence Security Controller (South) as part of the Defence & Civil Nuclear Security Team to provide direct project security support to Devonport and Defence related projects.

Candidate Specification

Required for the position of Security Manager;

• UK Government Security Check (SC) in line with BPSS
• Hold appropriate Security related qualifications (eg, DISA, MoD ESyO)
• Experience of managing and implementing security projects in the Defence sector.

Preferred, but not required

• Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
