Who we're looking for:
Multiplex is currently delivering several iconic projects in WA. Due to an increase in project demands, we are seeking experienced Design Managers who have a proven background in working on large scale projects within the healthcare sector (hospitals) to join our growing WA business.
As an integral part of the team, Design Managers are responsible for leading and managing the development and delivery of all design aspects to ensure efficient and cost-effective construction of the project.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage the Design team, including external consultants.
- Lead the finalisation of the design briefing with our Clients, their representatives, users and other stakeholders
- Manage the design procurement process including programs, budgets, cost plans, scope & quality of documentation.
- Identify design opportunities and managing the associated risks.
- Provide assistance and advice on authorities approval issues.
- Ensure buildability, cost effectiveness and a high standard of finish as required.
- Ensure the delivery of a cost-effective design.
Key Skillset Required:
- Background in design, construction & delivery processes including design management experience with a main contractor on large scale projects.
- Experience in the Healthcare sector (hospitals)
- Experience in managing Design Consultants.
- Risk management including how design impacts operational risk.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Commercial and financial acumen – ability to contribute to value engineering as part of the design process.
