What is the overall job?
This role will be based at Peterborough City Hospital. Peterborough City Hospital is now regarded as the City's most significant building project since the cathedral was built in 1238. The healthcare campus features: a 612-bed, 22-theatre Major Acute Hospital; a 98-bed Mental Health Unit; a 39-bed City Care Centre; a multi storey car park; helicopter pad; hard and soft landscaping and highway works. You will be based on site with an option for some remote working.
The Fabric Services Manager will be responsible for Building Fabric Services, PPM, Statutory Compliance and Reactive Works at the Greater Peterborough Health Improvement PFI including the management of the Building Fabric Supervisor and the performance of the team. Other key responsibilities will include:
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert on all matters pertaining to the building fabric and infrastructure.
- Health and Safety attributable to Building Fabric.
- Act as Appointed Person (AP) in support of contract operations, as designated and recorded on the AP Register.
- Ensuring the effective provision of all building fabric services to ensure availability always in accordance with the requirements of the Hard FM Contract, statute and industry best practice.
- Develop and maintain a building fabric maintenance strategy based on Asset Management principles.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and other staff, acting as the Supplier Relationship Manager for all Building Fabric Services Subcontracts.
- Collaborating with other staff on one's own initiative and able to interact and support other members of the contract team as required.
- Line Management including performance management of building fabric functions and direct reports
What do I need to be successful in this role?
- Healthcare Environment experience
- Building Fabric Technical knowledge
- Experience of working in the built environment, preferably in a Hospital Environment
- Asset Management knowledge and capability to implement this knowledge.
- Effective communication skills
