This Associate Director role is a key position within the Asset Finance & Leasing (AF&L) Portfolio team that services both the Client Coverage and Origination businesses across Australia.
About Corporate Finance - CME
Customer Management & Execution (CME) is the Centre of Credit & Execution Excellence within Corporate Finance, and the broader C&IB business. The team has highly professional Portfolio and Execution specialists across Australia, UK, USA and Asia covering the broad spectrum of Corporate & institutional businesses, delivering a wide range of financial solutions for our customers.
The CME Asset Finance & Leasing (AF&L) team aims to drive C&IB’s performance by leveraging its diverse talent and meaningful insights, with an objective to optimise the bank's available capital. CME offers a great training platform for the future leaders of C&IB.
The AF&L team focuses on serving both Corporate and Institutional clients across sectors such as Shipping, Aviation, Mining, Rail, Industrials and Government. The Associate Director role will report into the Director in CME and have strategic responsibilities for the provision of complex asset valuation and advisory, Residual Value portfolio management and provide industry related insights to the respective sectors. You will also support NAB’s Business Bank Operating Lease portfolio in residual value analysis.
As our Associate Director, CM&E - Asset Finance & Leasing, your responsibilities will include:
- The role requires the completion of valuation reports in accordance with the Bank’s risk policies and American Society of Appraisers Methodology.
- You’ll work alongside a senior appraiser and a team of specialist bankers working closely with client coverage, product origination and risk to create a compelling vision for the team aligned to the Sector and Divisional strategic plan
- Further to this, the role is expected to lead continuous improvement initiatives, as well as coach and develop junior team members, Senior Associates and Associates.
What you will bring
As a key advisory position within CME, the successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in engineering (mechanical, industrial, mining, industrial or similar). You’ll also bring deep asset knowledge across a range of sectors – broad engineering consultancy / industry / valuation experience would be highly desired. You will be enthusiastic and keen to continually enhance your technical knowledge. You will have a dept of industry experience and a demonstrated ability building external networks that can assist you in researching assets.
The role requires excellent communications skills and demonstrated ability to present complex analysis to senior stakeholders. You will have the ability to work on multiple transactions concurrently and support transaction deadlines.
Financial acumen is a fundamental requirement of the role -a qualification in business / finance preferred along with demonstrated skills in excel.
The ideal candidate will have a qualification with the American Society of Appraisers – however the bank will also support the successful candidate in acquiring this certification through further study.
