The Debt & Equity Settlements team are responsible for processing and settlement of all market security trades as instructed by clients of NAB Asset Servicing. The team supports settlement in Australia, New Zealand and over 50 global markets and helps to provide custody and related services to superannuation funds (including industry funds, public sector funds and corporate funds), government instrumentalities, insurers and investment managers
The role of the Officer is to play a large part in this, performing key daily processes, managing workloads in order to meet key internal and market deadlines and managing risks through process execution and a strong escalation policy. On the job training will be provided to ensure staff are sufficiently skilled to undertake functions and tasks across the team, rotating and being allocated as required on a day-to-day basis and to cope with both high and low volume days.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Perform the allocated workload within the team efficiently, accurately and within the timescales and standards set out.
- To help influence a continuous improvement mindset within the team, delivering key changes and improvements to process and procedure.
- Adherence to a best-practice knowledge sharing environment.
- To liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that instructions, enquires and queries are acted on efficiently and effectively.
- Assisting to complete the team’s duties in respect to the key internal and market deadlines, managing risk through the process execution and escalating where appropriate.
To be successful in the role you will have operations environment experience with good understanding of workplace processes, systems and risks. Proven experience with analysis, continuous improvement and problem solving. Custody or settlement (securities or cash) experience is highly regarded.
