Within the B&PB CIO we have an opportunity in the / Merchant Services and Business Everyday Banking Domains, for several Scrum Master roles eligible for full time and part time job sharing.
The Scrum Master will work within the Domain delivery team, working on a variety of projects to improve the merchant experience, and the deposit and transactional services we offer to business customers. The Scrum Master leads scrums and squads to deliver outcomes through the Agile way of working. This role instils the agreed-to Agile process, helps remove impediments to progress, and fosters an environment of high performance, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.
This role works closely with Product Owners, RTE’s, squads and supporting services (Architecture, Security, testing etc) to co-ordinate delivery of Business Outcomes and drive overall delivery of EPIC’s, Features and Stories.
The Scrum Master will also ensure success of technical releases through ownership of implementation planning activities, release management and production transition (ORR processes).
Responsibilities
- Responsible for coaching, supporting and mentoring scrum framework practices and Agile principles to the teams, Product owner and the organisation
- Lead and facilitate Scrum events using Agile practices, tools and processes and create consistency of delivery practices across the teams
- Be the driving force and guide teams to be self-organised, promote a collaborative team environment that foster creativity, innovation, continuous improvement and celebrate successes
- Gather, analyze, and present data to business stakeholders in a way that demonstrates how the team is improving and growing
- Work with Solution Architects, Service Owners, Engineers, Product Owners and Business Analysts to work through executable solutions to meet business needs
- Manage and build strong, trusted relationships with Engineers and Product Owners to track status of implementation and improve requirements and vision
- Maintain sprint flow by minimising external disturbances, manage risks or impediments and remove blockers and hurdles
- Provide targeted communication to all stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of dependencies, deliverables and issues and to measure and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure an effective change management plan is developed ensuring that the required change is achieved.
- Drive release management and production transition activities across multiple assets and asset teams, working closely with Release Train Engineer and respective service owners
What you will bring
- Good business awareness and commercial understanding of the Personal Banking Division, particularly Digital channels and solutions will come highly regarded
- Significant experience in the delivery space as a Senior Project Manager / Scrum Master leading squads and working closely with product owners and engineers
- Experience across Agile and adaptive delivery models and mindsets
- Managing and delivering large complex programs containing multiple streams, across multiple regions, with multiple vendors
- Knowledge and/or experience with Agile techniques: Progressive elaboration and breakdown of Epics and Features to User Stories, iterative development, testing and release techniques, agile cadences
- Leading and coaching teams of 15+ people to achieve successful outcomes
- Able to navigate a large complex organisation & build relationships with stakeholders using informal and formal networks
- Technical delivery experience, with extended experience in release management and production transition
