We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Markets and Treasury Controls team. This position will provide financial control, accounting support and financial analysis for the Treasury function of the NAB. Specifically, this role supports the Group Funding area of the Treasury division that executes NAB’s various debt issuance and securitisation programs.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Production of the monthly P&L and balance sheet substantiation;
- Comprehensive P&L analysis and validation including interest accruals, transfer pricing, realised and unrealised P&L components, hedge accounting outcomes, direct and indirect expenses and tax management of intercompany balances and consolidation eliminations balance sheet control verification work;
- Regulatory and external reporting;
- Keeping the Manager of Funding Finance informed of any material issues and discussing resolution/improvement; and
- Discussion with Front Office regarding P&L analysis and resolution of issues
What you will bring:
- Strong financial control and accounting disciplines along with key technical knowledge around hedge accounting, derivative valuation, P&L decomposition, and trading risk metrics
- Experience in a Product Control Function or Treasury function, ideally in a major bank, advantageous but not essential.
- Numeracy and analytical skill for numeric analysis and evaluating outcomes to identify key issues, trends and themes from large volumes of complex information.
- Ability to write clear and concise instructions for procedures and descriptions of situations, cases or issues.
