We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Personal Banking Finance team within our Finance division. You will partner with an executive leadership team to elevate commercial acumen and financial accountability to deliver transformation in a scalable manner at pace.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare month end reporting, including journals, reporting against plan/forecast and balance sheet management leveraging an understanding of relationship between business context and accounting treatment; ensuring adequate documentation, in particular for Retail Effective Yield accounting treatment.
- Partner with the business to understand key operational metrics and drivers, combined with industry and commercial acumen to identify opportunities to optimise business performance.
- Assist the Finance Partner to review, challenge and track outcomes against business cases for transformation/change initiatives.
- Prepare financial forecasts and plans to empower leadership with data to influence decision making, including clarity of assumptions and possible sensitivities.
- Use of PowerQuery, and other Microsoft best practice process and visualisation tools to drive process efficiencies.
- Consolidate results from multiple Personal Bank businesses monthly and prepare insights on divisional performance for half year and full year results announcements to the market.
What you will bring:
- Focused on driving commercial insights as well as delivering results
- Able to synthesize information from multiple sources, build complex financial models, identify and synthesise key themes and communicate and influence effectively
- Familiar with / ability to upskill in visualisation tools such as Power BI and other Microsoft tools
- Enjoys working collaboratively and building positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including presenting to executive leadership
- Uncompromising drive, passion, focus, and energy to help innovate and drive change
- Able to work in a fast paced and agile environment
- Awareness of process, risk and controls on reporting and analysis
- Sound professional experience in finance/accounting, financial services, corporate reporting, risk reporting or data analytics
- Tertiary qualified (Commerce/Business/Economics, Science, Engineering), ideally CA/CPA qualified.
