Business & Private Bank’s Merchant Services division is broken into 3 sub-domains being Merchant Acquiring, NAB Hive & HICAPS. The Merchant Acquiring domain develops, maintains and supports payment acceptance solutions NAB has in market. Acquiring manages over thirty commercial relationships (~$60m annually) who provide critical Professional Services, Hardware and Software Services across the Merchant Acquiring value chain.
The role:
As our Consultant, Product (Card Present) within Merchant Services, you will support planning, pricing, promotion and distribution of merchant acquiring product solutions to existing and potential Merchant customers. This role sits within the Product Management function working closely with Product Owner and Senior Consultant peers ensuring insights, product enhancements, issue resolution and compliance within our product management framework in supporting our customers.
Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:
- Maintain and manage the acquiring product set in accordance with NAB Product Management framework
- Handle product queries and escalations from bankers and servicing teams.
- Support Senior Consultant(s), Product and Product Owner, Product & Schemes in developing product strategies for key products and define the business value and outcomes.
- Competent in translating end user/customer insights into Features, Epics & Tasks
- Provide input to establishing, managing and reporting project management activities to ensure management awareness of activities, issues and outcomes.
- Act as an interface between Business and Technology to ensure that needs are met
- Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of structured user acceptance testing processes and documentation, to ensure the delivery of business requirements

You are comfortable engaging with our stakeholders and leading discussions to raise and resolve issues.
- In-depth understanding of Financial Products, processes and systems
- Conceptual understanding of the Card Present ecosystem and a working knowledge of the Merchant Acquiring business model (a deep understanding would be highly desirable)
- High level understanding of Cards Acquiring and Issuing systems
- Creativity and simplifying complex processes and issues, problem solving and analysis
- Ability to communicate a product vision to key stakeholders and teams
- Comfortable playing a leadership role, including leading workshops, in a cross functional business Ability to innovate, adapt and grasp new skills and content
- Proven analytical skills and evidence based decision making
- Previous experience in Products will set you up for success
