About the Role:
As a Senior Analyst, Data Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering on complex business re-engineering development projects and providing data modelling/reporting and data extraction by adopting best practices. In this role, you will ensure the delivery of the right data to the right customer at the right time using the right tools and technology on NAB’s target state (cloud) platforms.
What you'll be doing
Your key accountabilities will include but not be limited to:
- Designing, developing, and implementing solutions to customers organizational problems.
- Providing high quality service delivery on engagements.
- Designing and developing data reconciliation & metadata driven data processing frameworks.
- Engage in the initial stages of business requirements by participating in data sourcing, data gathering and integration processes.
- Assist with the development of target-state data pipelines using big data technologies under appropriate governance and approved framework.
- Assist in the writing and maintenance of process, technical, and business rules documentation.
- Provide DevOps support including but not limited to monitoring the health check of data pipelines and escalating performance issues.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you will bring experience working in a similar role Data Engineering coupled with the motivation to succeed in fast paced, at times ambiguous and complex environment and have:
- Demonstrated experience in Data Engineering
- Experience in the development and maintenance of data solutions experience
- Technical expertise with data models, data pipeline orchestration techniques
- Experience in programming and shell scripting e.g., SQL/ PLSQL/Python /Unix Shell/CICD-Jenkins/Airflow DAGs
- Experience in Big Data technologies Hadoop Stack e.g. HDFS, Hive, Spark (Core).
- Experience with source code control GitHub, Jenkins
- Working knowledge of Cloud (AWS) environments
- Experience in working within an Agile environment.
- Experience in applying DevOps practices, SDLC, CI/CD principles to build automated pipelines and deployment.
- Continually learning and delivering best practices and tooling for Data delivery initiatives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline
