The role:
Reporting to the Head of Divisional Controls, Home Ownership, in this role you will be responsible for working proactively in a first line Risk and Controls team supporting the Personal Banking business in its execution of risk management accountabilities. You are an experienced compliance risk and controls professional with the ability to operate in a high performing team that takes a practical approach to solving issues and adapts to changing priorities quickly.
You will be responsible for:
- Domain-led risk and compliance activities
- Compliance risk and regulatory obligation identification, impact assessment and change within the Division
- Advising business leaders on the application of the operational risk and compliance management framework to evaluate risks to achieve business outcomes
- Engaging and managing senior stakeholders to implement and improve business systems and processes through the use/integration of the risk and compliance framework
- Working with the business to implement systems and controls to manage the requirements of operational risk and compliance policies which apply to the business
What you will bring:
You have a strong background in compliance risk and controls, ideally with experience in product management and design, or in a distribution or retail environment. This role is critical in driving risk and controls awareness, understanding, and change to create a centre of excellence for controls including the uplift of NAB’s controls environment.
- Extensive experience in regulatory compliance risk and risk management disciplines, including controls assurance
- Accountable for providing risk and control specialist guidance to senior leaders
- Passionate about taking a leading role in driving the controls transformation agenda with a specific focus on improving the control environment using PACE methodology, key to achieving an uplift in intelligent controls scores
- A plain-speaking risk professional with high commercial acumen and excellent ability to influence
- Strategic, resilient and resourceful
