The role
Due to internal promotions, we have two Consultant, Employee Relations (ER) roles available.
Day to day you will be involved in collaborating with your ER colleagues, as well as your own cases. Cases can vary from performance management, conduct, colleague grievances and investigations. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to work on project requests. It’s safe to say no two days will be the same in this varied role.
In turn you will work with a highly collaborative team with extensive and vast knowledge, education, and backgrounds. We value each other’s opinions and perspectives and enables us to think outside the box and build a growth mindset to better our business and our customers!
Your opportunity
- Provide strategic and pragmatic advice and support to business leaders on a wide range of complex employee relations and individual employment matters including but not limited to misconduct, grievances/ disputes, whistleblowing matters and underperformance
- Conduct formal investigations into employee conduct, including workplace bullying, harassment and discrimination matters
- Interpret and advise on the NAB Enterprise Agreement, the NAB Award, applicable State & Federal legislation and workplace policies
- Respond to employment-related claims, including preparing responses to unfair dismissal, general protections and discrimination matters and representing the organisation at conciliations
- Support the development of people leader capability including conducting training and preparing knowledge articles and guidance on key employee relations issues
- Engage with and influence senior stakeholders to achieve optimal results for the business and ultimately our customers
- Provide support on internal projects requiring specialist employee relations input
- Provide leadership and support of HR programs, projects and activities, including identifying and reporting on trends and issues of significance
What you will bring
- Minimum 3 years’ demonstrated experience with relation to the understanding and workings of employment law, this can be from a Human Resources capacity (broadly), ER/Workplace relations, Employment Law/Lawyer capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in providing commercial and pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to think on your feet and to communicate and influence up and down business stream (both verbally and in writing)
- Good influencing and negotiating skills, collegiate and collaborative working style.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (desired)
