A career with NAB is about more than money, it's about serving our customers well and helping our communities prosper. We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Associate – Compliance focusing on Home Ownership, Personal Everyday Banking and Lending Assessment & Enablement.
This role focuses on providing 2nd line compliance advice, insights, and review and challenge aligned with the Group’s Compliance Framework, Policies and Standards. We work with the relevant 1st line teams, CRO team(s), legal, and the wider business to ensure we meet our compliance obligations and serve our customers well.
Your key responsibilities will include :
- Be part of a high performing team that supports our colleagues to serve our customers well and safeguard the bank through proactive and sound compliance risk management.
- Seek opportunities to build a capable and confident 1st line by leveraging our subject matter expertise to advise and guide the business in order to develop their capability and awareness
- Provide subject matter expertise and technical knowledge on compliance matters, regulatory changes and regulatory compliance uplift initiatives
- Lead and influence stakeholders within NAB to achieve strong and sustainable compliance outcomes. Provide insight and advice on key requirements and obligations.
- Deliver impactful and outcomes-focussed review and challenge activities
- Proactively seek opportunities to simplify (rationalize / improve) compliance obligations.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging and external compliance, legal and regulatory changes and their impact on NAB’s compliance policies and frameworks.
- Produce analysis of regulatory and compliance change matters highlighting the potential impact on the bank's future strategy.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across Risk, People, Enterprise Controls, Regulatory Affairs, Audit and first line obligation owners.
Your Skills and Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in financial services, law or other professional risk roles.
- Strong knowledge of Risk management and Compliance disciplines.
- Proven relationship management and influencing skills.
- Practical approach to solving issues with strong commercial acumen
- Excellent time management and ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Proven compliance experience, preferably in a highly regulated environment
- Collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills – strong presence with proven ability to interact, challenge and influence effectively
- Delivery and execution skills – ability to plan, prioritise, execute and monitor deliverables and work effort
- Strong written communication skills and track record in producing reports
- Strong business acumen – commercial and business judgement; good problem-solving skillsand ability to distil large volumes of data / information.
