The role:
This role is responsible for leading and managing the Cyber Response team within NAB’s Cyber Defence department. The role is also responsible for driving the on-going maturity of the team, processes and frameworks and continuously improving the capability of the function.
It requires extensive experience in managing and leading global teams, experience leading an operational SOC/IR function, excellent technical skills, and demonstrable leadership skills.
The role and Day to day will include:
- Manage the Bank’s 24/7 Cyber Response function, including daily operations, escalation, quality, reporting, supplier management, etc
- Technically direct and lead Cyber Response on major incidents
- Drive on-going uplift in Cyber Response capability, methodology and tradecraft
- Manage and report on operational performance and meet KPIs and stretch targets
- Influence strategy, planning and investment activities to uplift the Cyber Defence capability
- Lead and support projects delivering new Cyber Defence capability or requiring integration to Cyber Defence services, including requirements, delivery and operational acceptance
- Work with stakeholders to improve BAU security posture and defence against current & emerging threats
- Other related activities as required by Management
- Work closely with other related teams including Cyber Threat Intelligence, Red Team, Vulnerability Management and Application Security
What you'll bring:
Excellent understanding and experience with:
- Running and improving mature security operations centres
- Team leadership with energy and passion
- Managing operational teams
- Working in large/complex environments
- Demonstrated ability to stay calm and lead under pressure
Excellent subject matter and skills:
- Incident response methodologies and techniques
- Detection and mitigation strategies for a broad range of cyber threats, including malware, DDOS, hacking, phishing, lateral movement and data exfiltration
- Common enterprise technologies, such as Windows, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, web proxies, SMTP, TCP/IP
- Operational usage of common analysis and response tooling
- performing penetration testing, including network, infrastructure and application exploitation and exploit development
- NIST framework
- MITRE ATT&CK, Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain™ or similar methodologies
Tertiary qualifications preferably in technology and cyber-security subjects.
Preferably:
SANS Incident Response Team Management (MGT535)
CREST Certified Incident Manager (CCIM)
Ideally:
SANS GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) or similar
SANS GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA) or similar
SANS GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) or similar
SANS GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN) or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or similar
