The role:
Marketing Analysts in NAB’s consumer banking division perform a wide range of tasks to enable us to communicate directly with our 5M customers as individuals.
Your opportunity
The customer communications and insights team are responsible for the overall analytics to support the design and development of customer communication across numerous communication channels, including email, the NAB mobile app, bankers, etc. We use and are exposed to numerous world-class tools and now work almost exclusively in AWS. This is an opportunity to learn about marketing automation and personalisation at one of the most data-rich organisations in Australia.
The role and Day to day will include
You will work directly with marketing leaders while part of a large marketing analytics chapter that will educate and support you. Day to day, you will play a central role in 1:1 communication at NAB:
- A wide range of data and analytics processes, such as:
- Conventional campaign execution using Adobe Campaign
- Writing transformation scripts to bring new data into the automation environment
- Customer insights to understand and predict behaviour
- Error-free data manipulation
- Designing communication campaigns, especially audience design
- Commissioning advanced analytics such as predictive modelling from specialist teams
What you will bring:
The only technical requirement to join the team is intermediate SQL skills. Don’t worry if you don’t know what “intermediate” means – one of the first things in our selection process is a short online SQL test to benchmark you.
Beyond SQL, we are very flexible. We look for people who are eager to learn and keen to explore the world of marketing automation. We look for a range of things on CVs, but we have hired people with none of these things in the past and they have gone on to become strong members of the team:
- Tertiary qualifications in analytics, software engineering, information systems or mathematics
- Experience in marketing, ideally with marketing automation
- Experience as an analyst in a large organisation, ideally financial services
- Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders and making recommendations regarding the analytics that could be done
No-one has ever joined the team with the full set of skills needed so please don’t be put off by this list. Everyone spends much of the first-year learning and we look for SQL plus a desire to learn and determine your own workstack.
