The primary objective of the role is to Deliver Group Risk direction, focus, and transformation, in support of broader Risk and Divisional teams, through:
- Simplification of risk environment prioritising substance over form for better customer and colleague outcomes, including provision of robust, fit for purpose, risk frameworks and processes
- Maximising opportunities for technology to support automation of risk processes
- Transformation design and delivery across RP&A remit, and providing a risk voice through representation on Group/Risk wide initiatives
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide advice and feedback in matters of risk framework and policy, and governance – providing SME engagement in working groups
- Challenge existing ways of working across Risk for better banker and customer outcomes
- Raise and contribute to the design of digital/technological solutions to streamline risk management processes, including risk assessment both in project phase/implementation and in end state
- Leverage specialist skills and subject matter expertise from other Risk teams as required.
- Lead by example against team values and expectations
- Support Risk Appetite Statement and Risk Management Framework annual review cycle in collaboration with accountable/Division Leads to optimise P&L and business/risk outcomes – support annual RMD process (CPS220)
- Provide advice and feedback in matters of risk framework and policy – providing leadership to SME engagement in working groups
- Provide subject matter expertise and effort for initiatives, including significant regulatory and legislative change, to ensure sustained success upon implementation, leveraging SME from other risk teams as required
- Provide oversight and challenge of framework/policy breaches, exemptions, and exceptions –driving risk culture uplift through focussed conversation and recommendation for policy/communication/capability
- Manage assigned compliance plans – obligations and controls – continuous uplift
What you will bring:
- Experienced Associate Director role
- 5-7+ years’ experience working in risk management in a financial institution
- Excellent stakeholder management skills - Experience facing into multiple stakeholders and being able to effectively navigate the organisation
- Project management experience
- Change management (transformation) experience – demonstrated delivery
- Demonstrated creative problem solving – self-directed – see the problem, solve the problem
- Excellent communication skills – story telling – insights from data
- Excellent organisational skills
