The role
As the Director, Group Development (GD), you will act at the Transaction Lead in the day to day running of Mergers and Acquisition projects with responsibility for specific aspects of projects.
You will need to champion direction, team cohesion and lead by example whilst managing business expectations/strategic visions.
Your opportunity
- Support the GD leadership team on acquisitions and divestments, strategic projects and performance improvement initiatives
- Plan and organise team outputs to deliver on expectations, take accountability and reliably deliver on commitments
- Oversee activities of junior team members to gather data, structure and perform robust strategic analysis, valuation and financial modelling
- Supervise and assist in the training and development of GD team members
- Develop an understanding of the business, both at the Group and individual business level
- Proactively develop understanding of the financial services industry, including monitoring financial services sector market trends and developments
- Effectively collaborate with colleagues within GD, the broader Strategy & Innovation function, and across the NAB Group
What you will bring
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in Corporate Development, Investment/Mergers Acquisitions (and/or similar related), gained either in an investment bank, consulting firm, in-house with a large corporate or equivalent (previous financial services experiences is highly regarded)
- Strong business partnering experience with the ability to engage, collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated experience in complex problem solving and managing streams of work
- Ability to think on your feet and to communicate and influence up and down business stream (both verbally and in writing)
- Relevant tertiary qualification required, and a post graduate qualification (preferably Master of Finance, CA, CFA, SIA or equivalent) would be highly regarded
