We currently have a permanent opportunity for an Associate Director Divisional Controls (1st line risk management), Personal Banking. The successful candidate will be an experienced compliance risk and controls professional, with the ability to operate in a high performing team. They will take a practical approach to solving issues, adapt to changing priorities quickly and ideally have experience in product management and design of Consumer Banking products .
Reporting to the Head of Divisional Controls, you will be responsible for
- Advising business leaders on the application of the operational risk and compliance management framework, to evaluate risks in order to achieve business outcomes
- Uplifting risk management maturity by developing and maintaining sound compliance management practices
- Risk profiling: assisting to identify key risks and design of indicators to monitor, input into Divisional Risk Profile as relevant
- Designing controls: assisting to identify and develop the right key controls to mitigate key risks and obligations applicable to the business
- Completing compliance obligation assessments
- Assisting on regulatory response and regulatory engagement matters
- Providing guidance on risk and control items including Subject Matter Expertise for the following:
- Risks, Obligations Events, Change, and related Policies
- Remediation action plans to address any control design or operating effectiveness gaps
- Relevant Risk Management Forums and/or other risk related committees as required
What you will bring
You have a strong background in compliance risk and controls and ideally have experience in product management and design of Consumer Banking products . This role is critical in driving risk and controls awareness, understanding, and change to create a centre of excellence for controls including the uplift of NAB’s controls environment.
- Extensive experience in regulatory compliance risk and risk management disciplines, including controls assurance
- Accountable for providing risk and control specialist guidance to senior leaders
- Passionate about taking a leading role in driving the controls transformation agenda with a specific focus on improving the control environment using PACE methodology, key to achieving an uplift in intelligent controls scores
- A plain-speaking risk professional with high commercial acumen and excellent ability to influence
- Strategic, resilient and resourceful
