Our purpose is to build energy infrastructure for a better future. We foster a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone is encouraged to be their authentic selves.

Job Description

Are you a Senior Environmental Advisor passionate about the environment, sustainability and looking for an opportunity to shape the environmental outcomes of major projects? This is your chance to play a pivotal role in balancing project delivery with environmental responsibility.

Reporting to the Environmental Manager, you’ll lead the development and implementation of environmental programs and policies, working closely with project teams and stakeholders to promote sustainable practices, responsible land management and the protection of cultural heritage and the environment. With the opportunity to influence decisions and drive positive outcomes, your expertise will help deliver projects that leave a lasting impact for both the community and the environment.

This is a DIDO or FIFO opportunity based in Badgingarra, Western Australia, requiring a strong commitment to the project roster throughout the project lifecycle.

What you will do

You will provide leadership support for environmental management activities on the project, ensure compliance and directly influence decisions and drive positive outcomes through:

  • Implementing the Project Environmental Management System (EMS)
  • Maintaining and implementing the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Erosion and Sediment Control Plans (ESCPs) and sub-plans
  • Supporting environmental approvals, permits, risk assessments, incident investigations and maintaining compliance
  • Providing technical and practical environmental advice to the project team and subcontractors
  • Spending plenty of time in the field and getting your hands dirty supporting site works
  • Undertaking and participating in site inspections, auditing and environmental monitoring
  • Delivering environmental training, toolbox talks and contributing to daily site communications
Qualifications

What you will bring?

You bring the following skills, experience and expertise;

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ site-based experience in environmental management within major civil or construction projects
  • Experience in environmental management within construction and understanding of ISO 14001 EMS and risk management
  • Renewable energy infrastructure experience preferred but not essential
  • Experience in environmental approvals, incidents, audits and reporting
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with site teams, regulators and stakeholders
