We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as the Senior Satellite Spectrum Engineer reporting to the Manager Spectrum, TTC and Space.
A bit about your role
As the Senior Satellite Spectrum Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering, delivering, enhancing, and supporting the Sky Muster Satellite solutions. This will be within nbn’s multi-technology mix of broadband access technologies.
As a vital member of the Satellite Engineering team, you will represent nbn in the domestic and international regulatory arena to ensure our satellite-related regulatory interests are protected. Also, you will prepare papers and drafts of contributions for consideration by the government, industry advisory groups, or committees and participate in the work of those committees.
A bit about you
The successful candidate will have demonstrated competency with satellite link budgets and mutual interference analysis including your experience with government entities and regulators. You are familiar with the workings of the ITU-R and preferably the working parties and study groups dealing with satellite matters, and you have experience in participating and personally contributing with the work of the ITU-R.
You will have a sound working knowledge of the ITU-R Radio Regulations, satellite--related Resolutions and ITU-R Recommendations, the purpose and function of International Radio Frequency Information Circulars (IFICs). Additionally, you will be familiar with domestic Radiocommunications licensing procedures, license renewals and experience in the conduct of international frequency coordination.
You have experience preparing contributions for ITU-R related meetings, a track record in participation with Australian delegations and promoting Australian contributions. You have proven experience negotiating with Government officials, equipment suppliers and customers. Moreover, your proficient communications and technical writing skills, especially in spectrum interference and regulatory matters are essential. This is a largely autonomous role that requires a highly motivated individual who enjoys the responsibility of managing their own workload and priorities.
