Job Summary

As Legal Counsel for NetApp Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), you’ll act as Lead Negotiator and draft various contracts and subcontracts in relation to our customers and partners, including cloud service providers (e.g. Amazon, Google & Microsoft). Working closely with our Sales, Professional Services and Leadership Team to advise on other outbound agreements and ultimately provide your expertise and legal counsel to help us in delivering solutions for the complex challenges facing our customers in an increasingly diverse and dynamic data driven world.
Job Requirements
Acting as lead negotiator and drafting a wide range of contracts and subcontracts with our NetApp’s strategic, enterprise, commercial customers and channel sales partners; this includes hyperscaler cloud service providers (e.g., Amazon, Google, Microsoft), SaaS, PaaS and IaaS agreements, on premises hardware and software agreements.
You will also advise on other outbound agreements including professional services, reseller, information security and data privacy-related agreements.
Look for ways to fast-track engagements and deal closures with our customers as well as public sector/government organizations
Providing timely, proactive, and practical business-oriented legal solution and support to cloud services and sales organizations as well as finance and other company departments on legal issues and risks, negotiation strategies and deal structures
Acting as a subject matter expert and advising sales clients on XaaS and cloud issues, intellectual property, information security, data privacy and all other matters related to commercial contract terms

Ability and interest in developing a deep understanding of NetApp’s product and services portfolio, market segments, value propositions, routes to market, and business models.

Education
Bachelor of laws, LLB or equivalent qualification to practice law in Australia.
In-house experience at a technology, cloud or internet company is preferable
Software, hardware, and services experience, and cloud, PaaS/SaaS/IaaS experience is ideal.
Expertise and experience in the areas of contracts, technology law, cybersecurity, data privacy law and/or intellectual property, especially with respect to software and data issues.
Experience working with Public Sector/government and similar organizations is preferable
