The Havieron Project is the primary target of the Newcrest-operated joint venture with Greatland Gold and forms a key focus of Newcrest’s growth strategy in the Paterson Province. The Project is located in Western Australia, approximately 45km east of Newcrest’s 100%-owned Telfer mine.

The Havieron team, work in a highly collaborative environment, with interaction with early development teams, mining studies, mining and exploration teams. Our exciting Havieron Project the primary target of the Newcrest-operated farm-in and potential joint venture with Greatland Gold and forms a key focus of Newcrest’s growth strategy. The Project is located in the Paterson Province, Western Australia, approximately 45km east of Newcrest’s 100%-owned Telfer mine.

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Medic to provide assessment, stabilisation and transportation of ill or injured persons while also providing rehabilitation services for work related injuries

Reporting to the HSEC Lead, this unique yet rewarding opportunity will see you provide general medical coverage for residents in the Havieron camp, response to any medical emergency on site, and manage and coordinate random Drug and alcohol testing. The diverse operations across site will offer a multitude of challenges where no two days will be the same.

Other key deliverables of the role include:

  • Maintain the Project Medical Capability Plan and Medical Emergency Response Plans
  • Emergency Medical response for traumatic injuries and serious illnesses
  • Treatment of work-related injuries and overseeing recovery of injured people
  • Management of other medical complaints within the village
  • Management of the Drug and Alcohol testing program
  • Maintain medical facilities and equipment to high standards
  • Ensure all drugs are managed in accordance with Medical Governance protocols
  • Plan and organise onsite first aid training sessions

Our ideal candidate will be a safety-focused professional with systematic understanding of emergency preparedness. Through excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will develop and maintain close relationships with department heads and contractors. You will be able to work well within a team, maintain calmness and maintain a safe working environment

In addition, you will also possess:

  • Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency registration
  • HLTPAT005 - Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing
  • Current ALS and ALS2 qualifications or equivalent
  • C Class Drivers Licence
  • CERT IV training and assessing (Desirable)
  • Cert III Emergency Response (Desirable)

Please note: This is a fixed term role until June 2024 that will work on a FIFO (8/6), flying out of Perth.
