In the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, our Telfer gold-copper mine is a fly-in-fly-out operation, comprising both open pits and an underground mine. Telfer offers a range of recreational activities including a gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room and refurbished communal eatery.
Who we’re looking for
We are seeking a resilient and motivated Environmental Officer to provide support and advice related to environmental compliance monitoring at Telfer.
Reporting to the Senior Environmental Advisor and joining a close-knit collaborative team, this challenging yet rewarding role will see you ensure environmental compliance by having direct involvement in planning and undertaking the environmental compliance monitoring program across site.
Other key deliverables of the role include:
- Supporting the Safety Management System, ensuring a safety-first work culture; applying site safety standards, procedures and policies
- Equipment maintenance and calibrations
- Input and upkeep of database management system
- Develop and update procedures pertaining to the monitoring program
To be successful in this role, you will be structured, well organised with exceptional time management skills and the ability to work autonomously to a high standard.
In addition, you will also possess:
- Bachelor of Environmental Science or Engineering (Environmental) / or equivalent
- Proven experience undertaking environmental monitoring and data analysis
- Experience working with a database management system
- Experience using ArcGIS (desired)
- Knowledge of WA legislation
- Manual drivers licence (Essential)
Please note: This is a permanent role on a FIFO roster 8/6, flying out of Perth.
