Located in the Great Sandy Desert in East Pilbara, Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognises the importance of work-life balance. We provide comfortable, well-furnished rooms with Foxtel, along with site offers of quality food with healthy options, medical care, sports, and recreation activities. Families are welcomed several times a year to open days to support our community feel at Telfer.
Who we are looking for
Reporting into the Manager, Business Support, and part of the site leadership this highly pivotal role is responsible for providing safe and value-add operational control of the Telfer supply chain in accordance with legal requirements and company objectives.
You will be leading the supply chain function, which includes the site warehouses, inventory management, expediting and demand management. Fundamental to the success of this role will be your ability to sustain a positive and proactive safety culture. You will be accountable for effectively providing and accounting for materials and services required by the site. At the same time, we will be counting on you to provide strong leadership and operational direction to the work teams and ensure resources, capacity and capability are aligned to the work plans.
A firm focus will be on teamwork and maintaining the current high performance and self-sufficiency of the team. We are looking for a strong communicator and influencer and someone who is familiar with working in a highly collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on innovation and best practice.
To succeed and thrive in this role, you would come with extensive strong leadership background in supply and logistics in the FMCG, logistics, mining or oil and gas industries. We are looking for strong communication, influencing and collaboration skills.
Whilst we are not looking for a degree qualified candidate you should demonstrate an exceptional understanding and have extensive experience around supply chains, procurement, expediting and inventory control.
In addition, you will ideally possess:
- Experience using SAP or an equivalent ERP package;
- Demonstrated work management experience, preferably in the mining and minerals, processing, oil & gas or heavy industries;
- Intermediate or advanced usage of essential Microsoft tools;
- Ability to communicate effectively (Verbal and Written) at all levels;
- Ability to run meetings with key stakeholders;
- Attention to detail; and
- Manual driver’s licence.
This is a full time FIFO role from Perth on a 8days on 6days off roster.
