About the Role
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s (NHVR) Prosecution Team is a high performing group of in-house lawyers who prosecute and defend NHVR, South Australia Police and Victoria Police cases in Court, and provide legal advice to those agencies across the Heavy Vehicle National Law.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced paralegal officer or high-level administration professional to join our team. You will provide critical administration support to a Principal Prosecutor, and will be responsible for evidence review, drafting documents, preparing court paperwork and assisting other senior staff.
NHVR offers a supportive hybrid work environment with flexible work from home arrangements. We encourage work-life balance and celebrate additional leave through rostered days off and over the Christmas closure. This is a full time, permanent position that can be based in our Melbourne, Adelaide or Parramatta office.
About You
As the ideal candidate you will thrive in a challenging role and have experience in the field of prosecution or other legal or professional environment. You could be studying law, or you could have a strong administration background. Whether it be reviewing legal documents, preparing legal research, compiling reports, data entry into the case management system and drafting correspondence, you will execute tasks with high-level written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
With great energy, interpersonal and communication skills, you will have the ability to deliver a high standard of customer service for internal and external stakeholders.
The role is fluid in nature and the key challenge is managing competing priorities. To be successful in the role, you will be able to demonstrate initiative, work autonomously, and meet deadlines with high level organisational skills.
