About the role
Joining our Safety Assurance team as a Safety Assurance Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering safety assurance activities under the guidance of the Manager Safety Assurance. This role is responsible for:
- Conducting audits of NHVAS management systems, training packages developed by Registered Training Organisations and EWD service provider system standards and other functions administered by the NHVR
- Planning, coordinating and leading assurance activities, including safety investigations schedules and programs
- Preparing a wide variety of complex documents including options analysis, business cases, technical reports, business processes and correspondence and provide analysis as requested
- Providing input to further develop assurance processes, procedures, tools and work instructions
- Identifying potential and actual risk to operations and work with stakeholders to minimise risk and provide advice and guidance to industry
- Supporting and collaborating with internal departments on matters related to safety assurance and positively influencing Industry’s safety culture
At a high level, you will also be responsible for writing briefs and recommendations based on findings from the assurance activities.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will have:
- A genuine passion for customer experience and people safety
- Demonstrated experience in utilising and auditing quality management applications to identify trends
- Demonstrated ability to influence
- High-level problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated administration skills and the ability to provide quality administrative support to internal and external stakeholders
- Strong time management and organisational skills including the ability to plan and alter priorities to meet changing demands
- Formal qualifications in safety management systems, human factors or audit and investigations will be highly regarded
- Heavy vehicle industry and fatigue management knowledge is beneficial but not essential
