About the role
Reporting to the Senior People & Culture (P&C) Business Partner as part of a geographically dispersed team of four. You will partner closely with business leaders providing practical advice and guidance in how to build high performance teams through effective and consistent people resolutions.
As you partner with your client groups to identify areas of opportunity you will ensure compliance, governance and risk management approach to people related matters.
In addition, the role will require you to:
- Support and coach across the full employee lifecycle including performance and conduct management, employee engagement, change management and workforce development.
- Partner with your client group on talent management activities including succession, retention and development.
- Connect client group with centre of excellence to provide advice on employment conditions and the interpretation and application of Enterprise Agreements, legislation and organisational policies and procedures.
- Deliver operational and strategic work programs aligned to the P&C people plan and deliverables.
- Contribute to the preparation of people related data and reporting including insights and trends to inform organisational initiatives.
About You
This role will suit an experienced and qualified P&C Business Partner who is:
- Comfortable working in a centre of excellence model along with proven knowledge and practical application of contemporary HR practices including legislation such as the Fair Work Act.
- Has demonstrated ability to coach, influence and build trusted relationships where you can have courageous conversations with leaders across multiple levels of the organisation.
- Flexible in style and approach with well-developed communication skills to partner with your stakeholders in a proactive, positive and constructive manner.
- Experienced in developing and implementing effective workshops, tools and processes to educate leaders delivering a year-on-year maturation of organisational leadership capability.
- Able to identify opportunities in your business areas and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver solutions.

About Us
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as a national entity responsible for regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. The NHVR minimises the compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistencies across state and territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.
We are headquartered in Brisbane and employ more than 900 people across the ACT, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.
