About the role | He Aha Te Tūranga

As a Marketing Automation Specialist, you’ll be responsible for delivering, optimising and reporting on marketing campaigns and customer communications across nib’s marketing portfolio. Working across email, SMS, push notifications, forms and landing pages, you’ll translate campaign requirements into accurate, data-led automation solutions that deliver relevant and timely experiences for members and customers.

You’ll combine hands-on campaign delivery with day-to-day ownership of nib NZ’s marketing automation platform. This includes audience segmentation, customer journeys, personalisation, testing, reporting, platform governance, data structures and integrations. Working closely with Marketing, Technology, Data and external partners, you’ll help improve campaign performance, automation maturity and the value we get from our marketing technology, while ensuring activity meets brand, accessibility, privacy, risk and compliance requirements.

Day to day you will:

  • Build, configure, test and deploy campaigns and automated communications across email, SMS, push notifications and other digital channels.
  • Create and maintain templates, forms, landing pages, dynamic content, workflows, triggers and customer journeys.
  • Define data requirements and build accurate audience selections and segments using SQL and platform tools.
  • Own and continuously improve nib NZ’s marketing automation platform, ensuring it is reliable, scalable and fit for purpose.
  • Design and maintain the platform data model, including data extensions, custom objects, fields and integrations.
  • Monitor campaign and journey performance, turn results into actionable insights and deliver test-and-learn activity.
  • Partner with Marketing, Technology, Data and external vendors to deliver enhancements and resolve campaign, platform and data issues.
  • Maintain platform governance, standards, documentation and reusable assets, while managing priorities, dependencies, risks and timelines.

About you | Ko Wai Koe

You’re an experienced marketing automation professional with at least three years’ experience in marketing automation, CRM marketing, digital marketing or a related role. You bring a practical, improvement-focused approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You’ll have hands-on experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud or a comparable platform and be confident working across the full campaign lifecycle—from requirements, audience selection and journey design through to quality assurance, deployment, reporting and optimisation. You understand how customer data, personalisation and automation come together to deliver relevant communications in a regulated environment.

You have proven experience building and managing automated campaigns and customer journeys across email and other digital channels. Combining strong technical capability with a keen eye for detail, you can balance multiple priorities while ensuring campaigns are delivered accurately, efficiently and to a high standard.

You’ll bring:

  • Hands-on experience building, testing and deploying automated campaigns and customer journeys across email and other digital channels
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational data, with the ability to build or adapt queries for audience selection and campaign delivery
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, with the ability to maintain or adapt campaign templates
  • Experience with audience segmentation, customer data, personalisation and campaign quality assurance
  • Ability to analyse campaign performance and translate data into clear recommendations and actions
  • Strong planning, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Mobile Studio, CloudPages or comparable capabilities, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification or training (desirable)
  • AMPscript or equivalent personalisation experience (desirable)
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Google Analytics, Snowflake, dbt, ETL tools, data lakes or similar platforms (desirable)
  • Experience in health insurance, financial services or another regulated customer environment (desirable)
