Description

Help shape the future of Defence capability in Australia.

At Northrop Grumman Australia, we do work that matters — delivering advanced Defence capability and supporting Australia’s national security. We're planning to launch multiple Subcontract Specialist opportunities in mid-July 2026, and we're seeking expressions of interest from experienced procurement and commercial professionals who would like to be considered early.

If you're interested in leading complex subcontracting activities that support some of Australia's most significant Defence programs and future business opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Opportunity

Based in Fortitude Valley QLD or Symonston ACT with flexible hybrid working arrangements, the opportunity will see you play a key role in supporting our Future Business and Captures portfolio.

Working closely with program teams, suppliers and business leaders, you'll contribute to the development and implementation of strategic sourcing plans, leading new market approaches to establish supplier solutions that position Northrop Grumman Australia and Defence for future success.

You may be involved in:

  • Leading complex source-to-contract activities including developing and executing sourcing strategies and drafting and managing RFx processes, evaluation and contract negotiations

  • Building strong supplier relationships and driving supplier performance outcomes

  • Supporting Australian Industry Capability (AIC) outcomes

  • Ensuring compliance with Defence and company requirements

  • Contributing to continuous improvement across supply chain functions

About You

We're interested in hearing from professionals who bring:

  • Experience in subcontracting, procurement, commercial or contract roles within Defence or a similarly complex environment

  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Experience drafting, negotiating and managing subcontracts or contracts

  • The ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • An AGSVA security clearance (or the ability to obtain and maintain one)

  • Knowledge of Defence contracting frameworks including ASDEFCON (desirable)

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Commerce or a related discipline (desirable)

Why Register Your Interest?

By submitting an Expression of Interest, you'll be among the first candidates considered when the role formally opens in July 2026.

You'll also have the opportunity to:

  • Connect early with our Talent Acquisition team

  • Learn more about the role and our future growth plans

  • Be considered as opportunities become available

  • Join an organisation that invests in professional development, flexibility and employee wellbeing

  • Professional development – further education, leadership development, professional industry memberships and unlimited access to a range of online training

  • Salary packaging including novated car leases and the option to purchase additional annual leave
