Description
Your Role:
The Business Development and Capture Manager (Weapons Systems) will lead capture activities to secure new business and support organic growth across existing contracts within NGA’s weapons systems portfolio. Working under the guidance of the Director Future Business, you will shape capture strategy, coordinate proposal activities, and deliver value-for-money solutions aligned to NGA’s strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead capture efforts for guided weapons and land-based weapons systems opportunities, with a focus on combined-armsland systems.
- Conduct market surveillance and opportunity analysis aligned to NGA strategy and program objectives.
- Develop and execute capture strategies through targeted engagement with Defence, industry, and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate capture reviews, proposal inputs, and deliverablesin accordance withthe NGA Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
- Assess, qualify, and progress opportunities for delegate approval, including Australian-specific context and workshare.
- Forecast, manage, and report capture resources and budgets, escalating risks and performance issues asrequired.
About You:
You are an experienced capture orproject managementprofessional with a strong Army or land domain background, bringing deep understanding of combined-arms land systems and Australian Defence capability needs. You are comfortable operating in complex stakeholder environments and translating operational requirements into compelling capture strategies.
You will bring:
- Demonstratedexperience in combined-arms land systems, particularly long-rangefiresand ground-based air defence.
- Army or land-domain background (ex-Army highly regarded), ideallywithdeep experience in the acquisition and sustainment ofcomplex systems.
- Experienceincaptureor project managementactivities for weapons systems pursuits within the Australian Defence context.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across Defence, industry partners, and internal technical SMEs.
- Proven ability to coordinate capture activities, reviews, and proposal development in structured governance frameworks.
- Ability torepresentthe organisation at customer and industry engagements with credibility and confidence.
