Based in Laverton North, we are looking for Synthesis Production Operators to join the 2,4 D Manufacturing team at Nufarm. You will have the opportunity to work within a fast paced agricultural chemical plant producing our key products to meet production requirements. This role operates on a rotating 24/7 365 roster 4 days on 4 days off with 12 hour shifts.

Operating plants efficiently, to schedule and to cycle times

Effectively following supervisor instructions with relation to plant organisation, process control, quality non-conformances and improvements

Reporting any plant or equipment faults readily to the Maintenance team using the CMMS work request system

Driving systems such as 5S and general plant cleanliness and coordination

Managing safe shutdown and start-up of all equipment in the Plascon, Herbicide, Brine, Chlorination, Distillation and any other plants associated with the process

Diligent adherence to required operating procedures, and ensuring process instructions are followed to ensure safety and consistency.

Experience with generation and use of permit to work systems, JSEAs and LOTO systems.

Ensuring all safety regulations are followed and that necessary PPE is worn at all times

Immediately reporting any safety incidents or hazards

Proposing modifications and improvements concerning productivity, safety and quality

Understanding of Management of Change systems.
What do you bring?
You will have previous experience operating in a high hazard manufacturing environment (Chemical, Pharma, Oil/Gas etc) with a working knowledge of process control. You will have the ability to monitor process capability, use structured problem solving tools and apply quality standards. A Forklift Licence is essential. As an operator, you will have the opportunity to drive improvements in plant operation and systems, but will also have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty in and around the plant.
Ideally, you will have exposure to lean manufacturing principles and be comfortable reading engineering drawings and technical documentation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with stakeholders and a safety oriented, process/procedurally driven approach to operating machinery is pivotal to success in the role.
