Carrapateena is a world class Sub Level Cave mine operated by world class people and we are on a journey to design and deliver OZ Minerals first Block Cave.

As the Manager – Mine Technical & Technology at Carrapateena – you get the chance to lead an amazing team in all technical and technology aspects enabling the operation of our Sub Level Cave mine and building of our new Block cave mine, in one of the most exciting and unique mining environments in Australia.
This role is now available, and we want an exceptional and collaborative leader who can get the best out of our team to deliver outstanding results.

Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 4 days on; 3 days off

How You Will Create Impact

The role will be accountable to deliver safety, quality, cost and technical outcomes from the Mine Technical & Technology team at Carrapateena that underpins effective mining operations, including:

• Ensuring a priority focus on safety performance, having quality leadership conversations to drive accountability and team outcomes
  

• Leading a range of technical functions including geology, geotechnical, mine design and planning, drill & blast, ventilation, survey, scheduling, site operations centre, continuous improvement, innovation and technology.
  

• Optimisation and continuous improvement of the existing Sub Level Cave (SLC) operations.
  

• Completion of the feasibility study and progress detailed design of the Block Cave expansion.
  

• Ongoing development and implementation of our mine technology strategy including automation and decarbonisation.
  

• Working closely with the Manager – Mining Operations, providing technical and technology support of mining team activities.
  

• Working closely with the Manager – Project Delivery, in the design, planning and scheduling of underground infrastructure.
  

• Management of various contractors and consultants as appropriate.
  

• Technical qualifications and leadership in background relevant to the scope. (eg Mining Engineering, Geotechnical or Project Mgt)
  

• Ability to be a registered Mine Manager within South Australia (or Western Australia).
