Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off

How You Will Create Impact

Department

• Coordinating the interface with consultants providing environmental monitoring services, External Laboratories including costing, consumables, data management and QAQC
  

• Coordinating suppliers of environmental equipment required to undertake compliance and other monitoring including consumables
  

• Training and weekly task management of Environmental Technicians in monitoring and QAQC
  

• Maintaining Monitor Pro as the environmental database that is accurate, up to date and integrated into monitoring and reporting activities
  

• Issuing Land Disturbance Permits and maintaining the land disturbance database (GIS and Register)
  

• Maintaining LandFolio as the Obligations database with all licenses, permits and agreements with external parties
  

• Provide advice and guidance to OZ Minerals Operations team to ensure Mining and other contractors are meeting obligations regarding activities and constructed infrastructure
  

• Maintain and assist in ensuring site compliance to the Environment Management Plan
  

• Develop other Management Plans as required
  

• Participate in hazard and risk identification including carrying out environmental workplace inspections
  

• Provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to the OZ Minerals Environment Performance Standards
  

• Oversee the site waste management system
  

• Deliver and assist in the scoping and delivery of project work

Compliance

• Ensuring all obligations to undertake monitoring are undertaken on time (undertake the Monitoring Program as per Mining Lease PEPR)
  

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual technical reports that identify trends and comparison to compliance levels
  

• Assist in the preparation of accurate and professional reports for external compliance reporting
  

• Assist in project management of external consultants in achieving PEPR and EPBC commitments such as updates of air, surface water and groundwater models, rehabilitation trials, SEB Management and others.
  

• Undertake auditing and reviews as committed in the Mining Lease PEPR and associated management plans
  

What we value

• Degree qualified in environment related field (science, engineer and / or natural resource management)
  

• Experience as an environmental professional within a hard rock mining setting (>4 years preferred)
  

• Ability to deliver technical compliance reports for internal / external stakeholders
  

• Managing consulting and lab relationships
  

• Proven capability to design and implement environmental monitoring programs to ensure compliance with relevant approvals and legislation
  

• Broad understanding of State and Commonwealth legislation
  

• Implementing QAQC and Monitoring Programs
  

• Managing environmental data
  

• Development and review of Management Plans
  

• Lateral thinker, drive innovative solutions to improve site performance
  

• Experience using systems such as Monitor Pro, ArcGIS and INX suite

SA and remote elsewhere in Australia
