Mine Surveyor
This permanent opportunity is responsible for providing technical survey and mapping expertise to the underground mine surveying team at Prominent Hill, South Australia. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a passion for improving mine safety.
Location: Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off (open to a flexible equivalent)
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
How you will create impact:
- Ensuring accurate and timely completion of survey information and requirements within the underground mine.
- Issuing accurate and timely survey memos to relevant stakeholders.
- Updating and maintaining mine plans for both internal and external regulatory use.
- Adhering to statutory and regulatory requirements related to mine surveying activities.
- Maintaining survey control infrastructure and conducting necessary check traverses.
- Setting out underground exploration drilling accurately.
- Completing production ring mark-ups and stope surveys in a timely manner.
- Working according to underground mine planning standards and processes.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate survey activities and communicate with stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic mining environment.
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to integrate well into a collaborative team.
- Passion for mine safety and the ability to be a safety champion.
- Solid experience in underground surveying environment,
- Proficiency in organizing and completing daily underground survey tasks.
- Experience with Deswik software packages and end-of-month processes and systems.
- Diploma or Degree in Surveying.
