Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off or 5 days on, 2 days off- site based

About the role
Reporting to the General Manager Carrapateena, this position is accountable for supporting the Site Leadership Team in the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives for the site and maturing of the BHP Operating System (BOS) ways of working.
The BHP Operating System is a way of working that makes improvement part of what we do every day and focuses on Serving Our Customers, Pursuing Operation Perfection and Empowering Our People.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prioritise the application of the BHP Operating System Principles and Practices to deliver Business Plan priorities across all pillars of performance.
- Support the site leadership team in the development, shared ownership and delivery of improvement initiatives.
- Coach the General Manager and site leadership team to reinforce and sustain the BHP Operating System including coaching and developing the required mindsets and behaviours in our leaders and front line teams.
- Lead the site Improvement team to deliver value to the business, including supporting delivery of site wide and department initiatives.
About you
- You are an experienced business improvement leader and/or operational leader that is excited about the possibilities of the South Australian Copper and want to be part of the team that shapes future of Carrapatenna.
- Exposure to underground mining, maintenance or processing is ideal with a strong drive, attention to detail and delivery of outcomes.
- You have demonstrated strong business acumen and experience in shaping business goals and translating strategy and key value drivers into tactical plan and aligned targets.
- You will have a deep understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and organisational change.
- You are will be able to establish credibility as a trusted advisor and through your strong improvement, leadership, coaching and communication skills.
- You will be comfortable with ambiguity, complexity and delivering outcomes in a matrix environment using your collaboration, engagement, influence and coaching skills.
