Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off
Reporting to: Supervisor - Senior Project Metallurgist

How You Will Create Impact
The Metallurgical Technician will:
- Execute the operation of the metallurgical laboratory as directed by the Metallurgy Superintendent and Senior Project Metallurgist.
- Conduct routine testwork and sample preparation including monthly composite generation.
- Conduct diagnostic testwork to troubleshoot daily operational issues, as required from time to time, as requested by the Plant Metallurgist.
- Conduct project testwork to support production improvement opportunities, as requested by the Project Metallurgist.
- Assist in conducting plant surveys, preparation of survey samples, and reporting of survey data.
- Perform metallurgical data entry and produce interim reports on metallurgical testwork as required.
- Support in the accurate and timely reporting of metallurgical testwork.
- Develop knowledge and expertise in Outotec OSA and PSI instruments.
- Conduct calibration program of Outotec OSA and PSI Instruments.
- Provide troubleshooting support to operations and maintenance on OSA and PSI instrument issues.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and housekeeping to high standard and ensure all users of the area comply with requirements for use.
What we Value

- Experience in laboratory test work, with preference for direct experience of metallurgical laboratories.
- Self-motivated, conscientious with attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills especially with MS Excel.
- Excellent numeracy and data management skills.
- Developed analytical and problem solving skills.
- Developed oral and written communication skills.
- Effective time management skills to facilitate timely completion of required test work.
- Able to regularly meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Existing X-Ray apparatus operator qualification / training is preferred.
