About the Role:
Reporting to the Superintendent - Mine Engineering the Senior Production Engineer role will be a mix between technical and leadership tasks. You will lead and provide guidance to a well-connected and supportive team of underground production engineers. and support the mining operation. Your primary responsibilities will be to ensure production plans are safe, accurate, and delivered on time to the operation, while also mentoring a group of energetic and motivated Production Engineers.
Location: Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on on-site; 6 days off
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
About you:
- Lead the Production Engineering team in delivering safe production through quality designs.
- Lead and maintain a strong relationship with the mining alliance partners.
- Conduct regular time in the field to discuss methods of safe production with the underground (UG) workforce.
- Deliver operational readiness for mine production projects.
- Monitor task progression and adherence to the weekly and monthly schedules for the mining operations.
- Undertake incident investigations and implement actions leading to continuous improvement of the site’s safety performance.
- Develop necessary processes and systems across the team to enable the delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs).

What you will need to succeed:
- At least 5 years’ experience in underground metalliferous mining.
- Proven experience in mine design and scheduling in sub-level open stopping.
- A proactive mind set and approach to achieving safe production in a dynamic UG environment.
- Knowledge of mine stopping methods and application of ground support.
- The ability to work independently, apply initiatives and develop solutions and recommendations for the underground mine whilst also providing exceptional leadership to the team.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Deswik software packages.
