An opportunity has presented itself for a Shift Supervisor to join our team in Townsville QLD.
What You’ll Do
Supervise terminal operations and plan freight services to deliver safe, efficient and customer-focused outcomes.
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise and coordinate a team of operational employees to achieve performance targets
- Plan and manage arriving and departing freight services, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
- Oversee train loading activities to maximise capacity and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate daily terminal operations including forklift loading plans and locomotive movements
- Ensure optimal utilisation of assets and resources across the terminal
- Liaise with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to support operational planning and service delivery
- Prepare operational schedules and maintain accurate data in TMS and related systems
- Proactively resolve operational issues while maintaining safety and service standards
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading teams in an operational environment
- Strong planning and coordination experience, ideally within logistics, transport, or freight
- A customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Excel
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- High level of personal accountability and commitment to safety leadership
- Rail operations experience desired but not critical
