About your new role
As an Operations Supervisor, you will join Pacific National's Intermodal team based in Port Augusta SA.
This role is responsible for overseeing operations across Port Augusta, Whyalla and Cook, ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable delivery of rail freight services. Working closely with frontline employees and key stakeholders, you will drive operational performance while fostering a strong safety culture and supporting team development.

What you will do
Prioritise safety in every moment, safely every day.
- Lead and coordinate operations across Port Augusta, Whyalla and Cook to ensure safe, efficient and on-time service delivery.
- Provide leadership, coaching and performance management to frontline operational employees, building capability and driving accountability.
- Manage workforce planning, rostering and operational resources to maximise productivity and meet customer and business requirements.
- Support safe and efficient train movements through close collaboration with Network Control, Integrated Planning Services and other key stakeholders.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with operational procedures, safety requirements and company standards.
- Manage Pacific National's remote accommodation facilities at Cook, including site maintenance, contractor coordination and utilities management.
- Conduct safety observations, investigations, performance reviews and competency development activities across operational teams.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated leadership experience within rail, transport, logistics, mining, heavy industry or another safety-critical environment.
- Strong commitment to safety leadership and developing a positive safety culture.
- Experience leading, coaching and influencing frontline operational teams.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Ability to work an 8/6 roster based in Port Augusta.
