This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where you'll do more than support an established safety function. You'll be a key and trusted partner to the leadership team, helping build the foundations of HSE across a growing and evolving business.
Operating within a brownfields environment, you'll have the opportunity to develop and embed fit-for-purpose systems, processes and governance frameworks, while influencing leaders and strengthening safety culture. If you're someone who enjoys creating structure, driving change and leaving a lasting impact, this role offers the platform to do exactly that.
What You’ll Do
- Coach and support leaders to strengthen safety culture and HSE capability.
- Lead risk assessments and critical control management activities.
- Drive incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions.
- Partner with operations to identify risks and implement practical safety improvements.
- Support and continuously improve HSE systems, processes and standards.
- Facilitate audits, inspections and compliance assurance activities.
- Deliver HSE training, guidance and awareness programs across the business.
- Monitor safety performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Act as a trusted advisor during a period of growth, change and operational expansion.
- Travel to regional Queensland sites as required.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety, Occupational Risk, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience delivering effective HSE outcomes across complex, multi‑site operations.
- Strong working knowledge of safety and environmental requirements within rail haulage, logistics or mining (ideally 5+ years).
- Demonstrated capability in hazard and risk control implementation.
- Experience coaching leaders and facilitating incident investigations.
- Exposure to Major Hazard Facilities or dangerous goods (highly regarded).
