The Opportunity
We are seeking to recruit Level 2 (Second Person) to complement our team in Ouyen, Vic. A Second person requires the individual to be trained and qualified in two-person locomotive operations, ensuring that all work is carried out under the supervision of a Qualified Locomotive Driver.
You will be trained/up skilled in safe and efficient locomotive operations and will develop relevant skills and experiences through competency-based assessments and on and off the job training.
So what do we need from you other than drive, determination and enthusiasm?
- Working with key internal stakeholders to work towards a 'Delivered In-Full, On-Time' (DIFOT) performance for the Pacific National group; and
- Proactively working towards and supporting the achievement of safety goals
- Provisioning and preparing locomotives for train operations including checking and testing control systems as well as preparing relevant compliance documentation
- Performing minor maintenance and being responsible for first level locomotive servicing and provisioning activities.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be Driver Assistant/Second Person Qualified in Locomotive Driving with an aptitude for mechanical work. You will also display a high regard for safety and demonstrate a supportive attitude when working within a team environment. In addition, a basic level of computer proficiency is required, as well as a customer focused approach to your work. Finally, a passion for success and personal development is a must, as is a current motor vehicle licence.
Please note that you must be available to work a 24/7 roster.

You will have a supportive attitude towards your team and excel at customer service.
