The Opportunity
Pacific National are recruiting Trainee Locomotive Drivers to join our Blackwater Depot located at Gladstone as part of our QLD Coal operations. These new positions represent a rewarding opportunity within an expanding business to earn great pay, while learning new skills and building a lifelong career in rail.
Commencing as a Trainee, you will undertake an accelerated development program. This program includes a three-stage progression approach and builds on theoretical and practical knowledge achieved within an operational rail environment.
The trainee program will enable the participants to qualify as a Qualified Driver within Pacific National, and upon successful completion of the program, receive a Certificate IV in Train Driving issued by Pacific National Registered Training Organisation (RTO). This is a nationally recognised qualification.
As a Trainee Locomotive Driver, you will be trained in all aspects of safe and efficient locomotive operations to develop the requisite driver skillset through competency-based assessments and on and off the job training.
You will be upskilled with knowledge to prepare, manage and operate locomotives and trains safely, and comply with established operational procedures in order to maintain our high level of customer service delivery for coal mining customers in the region.
